Before Your Visit

Is my consultation really complimentary?

Yes. Lumina consultations are always complimentary and carry no obligation. We believe you should have the opportunity to meet with Dr. Mehta, ask every question you have, and feel completely confident before committing to any treatment. The $150 skincare consultation fee applies only to patients seeking a standalone skincare prescription without an associated treatment plan.

What should I avoid before my appointment?

For injectable appointments, please avoid aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, vitamin E, and alcohol for five days prior, as these increase bruising risk. For laser treatments, we will provide a specific pre-treatment protocol during your consultation. For consultations, no preparation is needed — arrive as you normally would.

Do you accept insurance?

Lumina Aesthetics is a private-pay practice. Cosmetic procedures are not covered by insurance. We accept all major credit cards, ACH bank transfer, and CareCredit. Payment plans through CareCredit are available for treatment packages over $1,000. We provide itemized receipts for HSA/FSA reimbursement where applicable (certain medical skincare prescriptions may qualify).

How do I know if I am a good candidate for treatment?

That is precisely what your consultation is for. Dr. Mehta will review your health history, assess your skin and anatomy, and give you an honest assessment of what's achievable — and what isn't. We turn away patients for whom we believe treatment is not appropriate, and we will always tell you why. Good candidates are adults in stable health with realistic expectations and specific, articulable goals.
